How Much Turkey Do I Need?
We work with small farmers who raise turkeys specifically for Thanksgiving, timing the growth of the flock so that they’re just at the right size for holiday harvest. Because of this, we won’t know the exact weight of your bird until the time of pickup. Please select a weight range that works for your party size (See guide below).
Number of Guests | Recommended Weight Range |
---|---|
5 or fewer | Breast(s) & Drumsticks |
6-9 Guests | 8-13 lbs |
10-13 Guests | 13-16 lbs. |
14-17 Guests | 16-19 lbs |
18+ Guests | 19-26 lbs |
How Long Do I Need To Cook My Turkey
This table is from the USDA and is based on a 325°F oven, and fully defrosted or a fresh bird. (For unstuffed bird, we’re talking roughly 15 minutes per pound).
If you want to cook a frozen turkey, it will take at least 50% longer than the recommended times.
It is recommended that you also check internal temperature of the turkey in the innermost part of the thigh, wing and the thickness part of the breast with a food thermometer. The minimum internal temperature should reach 165°F for safety.

14 to 18 lbs | 3-3/4 to 4-1/4 hours |

Hams
Choosing a Ham: Boneless or Bone-In Ham?
Hams with the bone left in tend to be more flavorful than boneless hams. Bone-in hams are also more decorative, and make for a more ceremonious presentation on special occasions. Also, you get the ham hock for soups and stews!
How Much Ham Should I Buy?
Estimate about 3/4 pound of bone-in ham per person and 1/2 pound of boneless ham per person. (A bone-in ham will have less meat per pound than a boneless one.)
